Hi all! I'm planning a trip to the Azores and would love to know what unique experiences I shouldn't miss. Any suggestions?

You should definitely check out the volcanic hot springs. São Miguel has some fantastic thermal baths that are not to be missed!

For a truly unforgettable experience, go whale watching off the coast of Pico Island. The Azores is one of the best places in the world to see various whale species up close.

Those both sound amazing! How about food? Any local dishes that are a must-try?

Definitely try the 'Cozido das Furnas'—a stew that's cooked underground by the heat of volcanic steam. It's delicious and unique to São Miguel.

If you’re into hiking, don’t miss the chance to climb Mount Pico. It’s a challenging hike, but the views from the top are incredible.

And if you're visiting during the summer, check out the local festivals. Each island has its own festivals with music, dancing, and traditional foods that showcase the Azorean culture.

This all sounds fantastic! Any tips on local customs or etiquette that I should be aware of while visiting?

Azoreans are very friendly, but they appreciate politeness. A simple 'Obrigado' (thank you) and 'Por favor' (please) can go a long way.

Also, be mindful of the environment, especially on hikes. Stick to the trails and respect the natural surroundings.
