Hey everyone! I’m planning to visit Salento next month and while I’m definitely hitting the coffee farms, I'd love to hear about any lesser-known spots worth checking out. Any tips?

You should definitely take a hike in the Cocora Valley. It’s not just the wax palms that are stunning, but there are also hidden waterfalls and lush trails less traveled by tourists.

If you’re into bird watching, the Kasaguadua Natural Reserve is a must. It’s a lesser-known spot but teeming with wildlife. The early morning walks are magical!

Make sure to visit the local market on Saturdays. It's a vibrant mix of colors, flavors, and crafts that showcase the region’s culture. Try the arepas de choclo and the fresh trucha (trout)!

These sound fantastic! How about cultural experiences? Any particular local events or festivals that align with my travel dates in late March?

You might catch the end of the Yipao Parade if you’re lucky. It’s a unique local event where jeeps are decorated extravagantly and driven through town—it really shows the spirit of the people!

I’d also recommend checking out any local music performances at the cafes in the evenings. It’s a good way to enjoy the local vibe and maybe even join in some salsa dancing.

Absolutely, and don’t be shy to chat with the locals. People in Salento are incredibly friendly and love to share stories about their town.

Thanks for all the great advice! Can't wait to explore Salento beyond the usual tourist paths. Maybe I'll even try salsa dancing!
