Hello fellow travelers! I’m planning a trip to Dahab, Egypt and would love to get some advice and tips from those who have been there. What are the must-see spots and things to do in Dahab?
Dahab is an amazing choice! You absolutely have to check out the Blue Hole for snorkeling or diving. It’s one of the best dive sites in the world. Also, the cafes along the beachfront are perfect for relaxing after a day in the water.
For a real adventure, I recommend taking a jeep safari to the nearby desert mountains. The views are spectacular, especially at sunrise or sunset. Also, don’t miss trying a Bedouin dinner under the stars.
Thanks @BlueHoleDiver and @SinaiExplorer! How about places to eat? Any recommendations for local cuisine?
You should definitely try Ali Baba Restaurant in Dahab. They serve fantastic seafood and traditional Egyptian dishes. For a quick snack, the falafel at any local stall is super cheap and delicious.
If you’re looking for something a bit different, head to Lighthouse area. There’s a great mix of international and local dishes there. And the vibe is really laid-back and friendly.
These are great suggestions, thanks! What about accommodations? Any places you'd recommend staying at?
For accommodations, there are options for all budgets. I stayed at a small guesthouse close to the lighthouse area and loved it. It was affordable and the staff were incredibly welcoming.
Check out some of the eco-lodges around Dahab. They offer a unique experience and are generally committed to sustainability, which is a big plus.
Eco-lodges sound intriguing. I appreciate all the tips! Any final advice before I head out?
Just be sure to respect the local culture and environment, especially when diving or snorkeling. Enjoy Dahab, it’s truly a special place!
Bring plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated. The sun can be quite intense, especially in the middle of the day. Have a fantastic trip!
Thanks everyone for the helpful insights! I'm really looking forward to this adventure. I'll be sure to share my experiences once I’m back!
